OPTICAL SOLUTIONS – SFP

Fiber Optical Transceiver

overview

The GigaWire broadband access network solution is an alternative to traditional fiber optics. It is a viable technology that supports and complies with all relevant standards for MSPs responsible for providing HSIA to MDU and MTU properties.

GigaWire supports broadband access industry standards in the home while extending its applicability to premises environments for large brownfield residential buildings and office buildings with similar or better data thru put and results. It makes use of existing infrastructure to deliver HSIA in a premises environment where optical fiber has not or cannot be installed. Accordingly, it can significantly reduce time-to-service and costs as compared to an entirely new cable installation.

Specific benefits

By avoiding a traditional fiber optics deployment there are substantial benefits to be realized by MSPs and their customers when selecting GigaWire as an alternative technology. These benefits include fiber-like speeds, an easier deployment, and a quicker return on investment. Moreover, GigaWire makes extensive use of existing infrastructure while providing a flexible upstream/downstream definition, all while reducing costs and time-to-service.

Speed and Ease of Deployment

Brings copper and coaxial access into the gigabit era by delivering fiber-like speeds

Flexible Upstream/Downstream Definition

The upstream/downstream bandwidth ratio can be flexibly set to a value between 2:8 and 1:1.

Use of Existing Infrastructure

Operators can also reuse the existing copper and coaxial infrastructures to deliver gigabit access without rewiring

Reduced Costs and Time-To-Service

Enables service providers to quickly extend ultra-broadband coverage at lower costs
